With specialized expertise in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder, specific phobias, and social anxiety disorder, I provide tailored strategies to support your well-being and resilience.
Life Transitions
I provide support through life’s many transitions, whether you're navigating a career change, becoming a parent, improving relationships and family dynamics, coping with a breakup or new relationship, processing grief or loss, or managing a chronic illness or recent medical diagnosis.
Depression & Emotional Well-Being
Whether you're facing a depressive episode for the first time or have experienced depression over a longer period, I take an integrative approach to treatment. By addressing negative thought patterns, improving sleep, nutrition, and exercise, and helping you reconnect with enjoyable activities, I can support you in restoring balance and enhancing your overall well-being.
Dating and Relationships
Relationships and dating can be both exciting and challenging. I provide support in enhancing communication with your partner, navigating breakups and being single, building confidence in yourself and with your partner, coping with a challenging partner, and ultimately feeling like your authentic self in your relationships.
Self-Esteem, Body Image, and Perfectionism
I help individuals navigate challenges related to body image, self-esteem, and perfectionism by fostering self-compassion, having realistic expectations, and shifting unhelpful thought patterns. Through evidence-based strategies, I support you in developing a healthier relationship with yourself, building confidence, and embracing progress over perfection.
Young Adults and College Students
Navigating college life can be a complex and challenging experience, whether you're in the midst of applying or currently enrolled. The transition often involves balancing academic demands, social expectations, personal growth, and the pressures of future career planning. As you adjust to a new environment, you may encounter feelings of uncertainty, stress, or homesickness. For those in college, the journey also includes learning to manage relationships, finances, and maintaining mental health while pursuing your goals. This period can be both exciting and overwhelming, and seeking support during these times can be invaluable in helping you thrive.
Adult Therapy Questions
-
There may be instances during treatment when you wish to involve a significant other, such as a romantic partner, parent, or sibling. During our regular therapy sessions, we will discuss the purpose of including them and what this session may entail. It can be beneficial to identify and communicate specific topics or themes that you may be finding difficult to share with this person outside of therapy.
-
It is completely normal to feel ambivalent about starting therapy, whether this is your first experience or you're beginning with a new therapist. I encourage open and honest communication throughout our work together. Your therapeutic experience will be shaped by the level of comfort, trust, and transparency between us. If something isn’t working for you or if you would like more of something, please feel free to share your thoughts. Likewise, if I believe you may benefit from a different level of expertise than I can provide, I will be straightforward with you and help you connect with someone who may be a better fit.
